A new initiative has launched to preserve tracks that helped shape the cultural identity of Australia. The project, created by APRA AMCOS and the NFSA, has announced its first ten inductions following what judges described as a very robust selection process.
Among the initial group of honourees are several well-known tracks. These include Midnight Oil’s "Beds Are Burning," Yothu Yindi’s "Treaty," Helen Reddy’s "I Am Woman," and "Friday on My Mind."
Organisers state that the newly established list is intended to grow every year. Future additions will continue to recognize music that has made a significant impact on the nation's culture.
